In this role, the County Auditor protects taxpayers and businesses from possible monetary loss which may occur while:

• Pumping gasoline 
• Purchasing prepackaged or deli meats 
• Purchasing fuel oil
• Checking out at a store which scans an order
• Drying clothes in a time-measured machine
• Purchasing milk or other liquid commodity

The Auditor strictly enforces Ohio’s Weights and Measures laws. Scales and gas pumps are tested annually for accuracy. Look for our seal! Businesses are also spot-checked to ensure fairness in the market place.
